CLASS DISMISSED! BRITAIN’S FUNNIEST CLASS OF 2024 REVEALED!

                                                

Class is officially dismissed! The Bash Street Kids' search for this year's Funniest Class has come to an end. Congratulations to Year 6 from Northside Primary School in North Finchley, London, who are now crowned Britain's Funniest Class of 2024. Their teacher, Mrs Sarah Crouchley, takes the crown as the first Britain's Funniest Teacher. Winning with 42% of the votes, the year 6 class turned up the heat with their winning joke: "What’s the hottest area in the classroom? The corner because it’s 90 degrees!"

Jokes poured in from all corners of the country for this year’s competition, and were whittled down to a shortlist top ten funniest schools by Beano’s gag masters before the public voted for the winner. All of this year’s finalist jokes have made the nation laugh and giggle and we thank every single class that took part in the competition.

To celebrate their victory, Year 6 and Mrs. Crouchley will be causing mischief alongside Beanotown’s funniest class, The Bash Street Kids, in Issue 4237, out 22nd May 2024. Beano artist, Nigel Parkinson, has immortalised each mini-joker and their teacher into Beanotown characters. They have also won Golden Gnasher Badges, comic subscriptions for the whole class and their school library, a trip to a Gulliver’s theme park of their choice, plus a visit from the Bash Street school bus, which delivered the prize haul and will tour the remaining top 10 schools in June.

Although this year's competition has wrapped up, the laughs don’t have to stop! Our downloadable lesson plans will continue to inspire and ignite the imaginations of students in classrooms everywhere. Beano has partnered with charity Place2Be to bring fun, free, resources to the classroom to tackle the growing issue of children’s mental health.
